Pre-planted Coir Rolls have proved to be a successful bio-engineering erosion technique for many years.
Coir is a natural and sustainable waste product from the husk of coconut shells. Our manufacturing partners in Sri Lanka produce quality controlled coir fibre rolls which we import into the UK. Coir rolls are available as unplanted, pre-planted and well established product; all planted with native UK wetland plants.
Standard size 300mmɸ x 2.2mlong…. 200mmɸ & 400mmɸ subject to availability OR contract grown.
Preplanted coir rolls provide immediate soft edge erosion control to river banks, streams, canals, lake edges and ponds. This effective method helps to improve site biodiversity, the flora and fauna help to establish an immediate wildlife habitat for water vole.
Coir rolls are often used as part of a cost-effective erosion control system; Greenfix supply a full range of bioengineering products that form protection systems at the water’s edge; including, rock-rolls, brushwood faggots, coir pallets, fixing posts and erosion control blankets and embankment mats.
Standard plant mixes are available ex-stock and special mixes can be grown to order
